Sorry for the confusion. A gas fitter is a person who is qualified to deal with the gas lines and/or appliances in your home. Often, plumbers are also certified gas fitters. We are specifically interested in converting our gas fireplace back to a wood-burning fireplace. If anyone has any recommendations, that would be great. Thanks so much.

I actually just turned my gas log fireplace back to wood last week. I used American Professional Chimney Service. Robert Lawson (owner) is a professional firefighter and master gas fitter... He can inspect it as well and he was a very nice guy

FYI: Most plumbers are also gas fitters. i have used SOS Plumbing and they did an awsome job relatively cheap compared to some of your major shops.

It was like $135 for us but we had a vented gas fireplace with a clean chimney...
