THis should be an original recipe or something passed down in the family.

What cook books do you like? any tips?

to start off I will give a tip.
I like the Paula Dean entertaining cook books, I try to make stuff with low or no fat ingredients if I can, she does good stuff but boy is it packed with butter!!!!
