According to Fox 6 : http://www.myfoxal.com/global/story.asp?s=10825881 the Hoover PD picked up two young adult males for a series of burglaries.

According to the article, the houses where chosen based on information these two obtained from their friends' Facebook postings (or friends of friends) advising when someone would be on vacation.

Be careful what you post on your Facebook page (or other social networking sites) and who has access to it. Sometimes you can put "too much information" out there.

Its always better to post a nice picture when you get back home from vacation than to post in advance when you're going!
