Hey Y'all,
This isn't technically a Bluff Park incident, but one in Hoover that
was written about in the paper last night or the night before.

My dad told us about this robbery; he got a call Saturday afternoon
from someone in his Sunday School class, to pray for one of their members.

She was robbed and beaten around 2 in the afternoon this past
Saturday. The robber broke down her door and beat her and
robbed her. She is a senior citizen and lives alone. She lives in
a rather secluded part of the apartments that are in between
St. Peter's Church and on the other side of the apartments is
First Baptist of Hoover. (I believe the street is Patton Chapel Rd.)

She was unconscious for a day or two, and had to go through a
three hour surgery on top of all that. Thank the Lord she is
finally out of her comma and on the mend.

This location is on the edge of Bluff Park and so I wanted to
be able to just remind folks to please use wisdom in all you
do so you can be as safe as possible.
And when it comes to those who are widowed, or living alone,
let this be a reminder to be our brother's keeper.

Someone happened to be going by her apartment, perhaps they
were going to visit her, when they noticed her door broken down
etc. thank goodness they got to her shortly after it happened.

Thanks for letting me post this here. I think we all need to stay
informed and be reminded to be safe and keep our eyes open.

I'm sure there was! And in fact, the lady across the hall from her
was broken into for the SECOND time last Saturday,as well;
but thank goodness she wasn't home at the time of the robberies.

I was surprised that I did not get an email from the Hoover Police on this.

I haven't been getting any of the Hoover PD's alerts - I got some for a while and then all of a sudden it stopped. Are they still doing this? Or have I somehow been deleted from the e-mail list?

This did not occur in or near Bluff Park. It happened on Patton Chapel Road between Hwy. 31 and Lorna Road, therefore we wouldn't get notification of it.
