Two new documents are posted on the Hoover Police Department web site http://www.hooverpd.com

The first is Holiday Safety Tips 2009, a PDF file which can be downloaded by clicking on the following link:

The second, Avoid Becoming a Victim of Fraud will be available later today on the Hoover PD web site. (We'll update the link as it becomes available.BP Forum Admin)

Please take some time to read both of these documents.

I’ve watched, with interest, some of the local news stories over the past several days. Vestavia Hills PD caught two burglars due to the fact that their residents quickly called VHPD (http://blog.al.com/spotnews/2009/11/vestavia_hills_police_arrest_t.html). This is very similar to how the suspects were recently arrested in Hoover. Delays in calling can be a huge factor in whether we make an arrest, or not. A delay in minutes can often be the time suspects need to leave the area; by the time the officers receive the information, the suspects can be in another city.
