I am hosting a yard sale to raise funds for a Great friend of mine and a retired Marine. He is suffering from Guillain-Barre syndrome. Guillain-Barre syndrome is an autoimmune disorder in which peripheral nerves are damaged and cannot transmit signals efficiently. The disease typically progresses from the legs up the body to the trunk and may even affect the respiratory system, causing almost complete paralysis. He is completely paralized from the neck down. Also, is on ventilater to help him breathe. The recovery is a long one. 6 to 12 monthes with rehab.
I am hosting this yardsale on Saturday April 9th from 8 - 2 + . ALL proceeds will go directly to Pete and Deborah Morris to help with the mounting bills. Please, come by The Children's Fresh Air Farm, directly across from Shades Mountain Baptist Church, on Park Avenue and get some good deals and do some Great work.

Guillain-Barre syndrome is also called " Creeping Paralysis " since it starts in the lower extremeties and works it's way up the body. It does indeed take a long time to recover and is a critical illness.
