Title: Lost Golden Retriever
Post by Bluff Park Guy on 08/04/11 at 3:12pm

My Golden Retriever ran away from the house this morning 8/4 because of thunder. He is an old male with a blue collar. The collar has Bluff Park Animal Clinic tags on it. His name is Jake an he was last seen at the Crest Lane/Park Avenue area. Please call 563-1260 if seen or found.

Thanks

I talked to some walkers this morning and they think they saw my dog in the Pioneer Drive/Farley Road area yesterday. I have sent the site admin some pictures of Jake to post.

Thanks

This is heartbreaking.  I've seen crossposts via email & facebook.  Have you posted flyers throughout the area & contacted animal control/Vestavia Animal Clinic?

Beautiful dog.  I will be on the lookout.  I sure hope you find him.

Yeah. My wife and kids posted flyers around the neighborhood yesterday and we have contacted all the animal shelters in the area.

Have seen the flyers & am still on the lookout when out & about.  Still nothing?

Bluff Park Guy,
I am so sorry he is still missing. I see the signs when I walk at Park Avenue. There are 2 wooded lots near Pioneer Playschool (where you said some walkers told you they may have seen him) One is behind the school and one is just before you get to the school on the left on Chapel road (there is an empty house for sale next to it) If it was your dog they saw he may be hiding in the woods. We hear a lot of barking when out walking right around there but I don't know who has dogs around that area and who does not so I don't want to send false hope it could be a dog in its own yard.

If there are ANY leads, I'm ready & willing to help follow up!  I can't imagine losing any one of my dogs!

The last lead I had was someone thought they saw him in the Chapel Creek area on Maztek drive. Maztek is the road that runs between the new subdivision and back into the older neighborhood. I have driven back in there several times looking for him but there a ton of houses back in that area.

When was this sighting?

Did you put signs up at Piggly Wiggly?
I would put signs up in the new subdivision too because the Farley subdivision connects to it back there so it is possible that he has gone that far.
