On Saturday, December 22nd, we responded to a shooting that occurred inside Martini’s II Ultra Lounge just after midnight. Officers were on scene at the club immediately, which is located at 2132 Lorna Ridge Lane. Two individuals were killed and one was injured by the shooting. A suspect was identified by responding officers and he was taken into custody around 7:00 AM this morning by the U.S. Marshals Service. The victims have been identified as:

- Monterio Alonzo Peebles-Kellogg, a 19 year-old male from Birmingham.
- Lakenya Chaniese Moton, a 20 year-old female from Birmingham.
- Unnamed 20-year old female from Birmingham (being treated for non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital).

These homicides are the first to occur in Hoover in approximately 2½ years. We send our condolences to the families of the deceased and the injured person and ask that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers. Additional information will be released at a later time.
