Title: Holiday Calendar 2016 Post by BluffPark_Writer on 09/22/16 at 12:17pm Consider It Joy Baking The 2nd Annual Allergy Friendly Fall Festival. Halloween can be tough for kids with food allergies! But at Consider it Joy Baking it's all fun and games! Located on the sidewalks in front of our store, they will have activities and games, and all prizes will be NON-FOOD! They will have refreshments and hourly door prizes. Trick or Treating at the shop. Come in your costume and draw for a prize. The Phillips have hosted this Bluff Park Icon for over 20 years. This year the Phillips invite you to trick or treat them at their front door! Churches *Bluff Park Neighborhood Thanksgiving Worship Service Sunday, November 20 5:00pm Host: Chapel In the Pines 2269 Chapel Road, Hoover 35226 Once again, the churches of Bluff Park will gather for our annual "Neighborhood Thanksgiving Service". Join with fellow neighbors as we celebrate all we have to be thankful for. Bluff Park Community Church Friday, October 14 6:00 - 8:30 The neighborhood is invited to bring a crockpot of your favorite soup to share, and a pumpkin or two for carving. There will also be a fire pit available for roasting marshmallows and making s'mores! Carols by Candlelight Sunday, December 18 5:00pm "Carols by Candlelight" The singing of carols and the reading of Scripture (2269 Chapel Road, Hoover 35226) You are invited to gather with neighbors, friends and family for "Carols by Candlelight",a neighborhood gathering of praise and worship through the reading of Scripture and the singing of Carols. Bluff Park Baptist October 1st, 8:00am - 1:00pm Grace on the Bluff is a Church yard sale with a twist...all the items are free. We use this as an opportunity to serve those in our community, but more importantly, to explain that just like God's grace, all items are free of charge. The only requirement is that they receive the gift. Hanging of the Green Sunday November 27th 2016 6:00 pm Join Bluff Park Baptist as they celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season and the first Sunday of Advent at the special "Hanging of the Green" service. Lights on the Bluff Saturday, December 10th 2016 5pm to 7:30pm Join Bluff Park Baptist for the 9th annual "Lights on the Bluff" and the best fun-filled family event of the season! Their live nativity with interactive caroling kicks off this event at 5pm by focusing on the true meaning of Christmas. Then take a hayride tour of some of the best lights of Bluff Park. As you wait for your turn to see the festive decorations you can enjoy a hot dog you cook yourself over an open fire at the old-fashioned "Weenie and Marshmallow Roast", or warm yourself with hot chocolate, coffee, and wassail. There will also have cupcakes and boiled peanuts, plus a "Make and Take" Christmas ornaments for kids. There is no cost, so bring family and friends for a wonderful Christmas experience! Christmas Eve Candlelight service Saturday, December 24th 2016 5:00pm Join Bluff Park Baptist as they celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 24th, 2015 at 5:00 pm. They will have a traditional candle light service. Christmas Day Service Sunday, December 25th 2016 at 10:00am Bluff Park Baptist will only have one service on Christmas day as they focus on the Birth of Christ St. Alban's Bluff Park neighbors are invited to come with their critters (contained or leashed) to St. Alban's for The Blessing of the Animals. "We love our pets, and pray for them to have healthy and happy lives with us." In conjunction with UAB Nursing, St Alban's is offering Family Caregiving Across to Lifespan, a workshop for anyone caring for someone with a chronic or serious illness. This can be a child with asthma, a spouse with MS, a senior with multiple health issues. Presenters are all distinguished faculty of UAB. Cost is $15 to cover meal and materials. Info and application can be found at http://stalbans.dioala.org Shades Crest Baptist TBA Chapel in the Pines Bluff Park UMC There will be carnival games, prizes, a haunted house, inflatables, a cake walk, food and more. New this year is a special Preschool-Only Zone where little ones can have fun in a space geared toward them. Come in costume and celebrate with your friends and neighbors in Bluff Park.
