The Seasoned Performers, Alabama’s Only Senior Adult Theatre, announces their second annual “A Yard Act to Follow.” The company will hold a huge multiple-family Yard Sale to benefit The Seasoned Performer’ tours to underserved senior communities and schools. “Everything Old is New Again!” The event will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at the Artists on the Bluff in the old Bluff Park Community School (571 Park Avenue, just off Shades Crest Road in Bluff Park) in the school cafeteria.
 
 
 
 
The yard sale is raising funds for the company’s tours to over 150 sites every year, including senior centers, schools, retirement communities, libraries, and nursing homes. This year’s sale features many books, purses, furniture, clothing, linens, dishes, pots and pans, CDs, household goods, and other items from many different fans and members of The Seasoned Performers. There are also birthday month National Geographics for people with birth years in the 1970s -- 2000s, along with crossword puzzles for each decade. Donations for the sale are gladly accepted the week of July 30 (please call the office at 978-5095).

The Seasoned Performers senior adult theatre is celebrating 29 years as Alabama’s only senior adult theatre company. They are accepting bookings for fall performances of Rosa and the Rhinestone Star, a 40-minute one-act comedy written by Jean Pierce and Betty Pewitt, and directed by Ellise Mayor. Reading programs are also available for all ages. These 25-minute programs include a variety of humorous, historical and seasonal themes.
