Hoover Police: Coyotes
11/03/13 at 10:23pm

From the Hoover Police Department Facebook page:

Recently, we have had an increase in reported coyote sightings in the City. Residents in the following areas/streets have called in complaints over the last couple of weeks:

Brock’s Gap area
Patton Chapel Road area near Simmons/Gwin schools
Pavillon Drive
Oakleaf Trail
Twin Branch Drive
Lynncrest Drive
Guyton Road

If you have seen coyotes in your area, and didn’t see your street listed, please send an e mail to Officer Brian Foreman at foremanr@ci.hoover.al.us Detailing the dates and time of day you have seen coyotes will be helpful to our Animal Control Officers.

If you are concerned about coyotes in your area we have found a couple of web sites with information that may be useful to you to help protect your family and pets:

8 Coyote Safety Tips: http://www.active.com/outdoors/articles/8-coyote-safety-tips

Coyote Hazing: Guidelines for Discouraging Neighborhood Coyotes: http://www.humanesociety.org/animals/coyotes/tips/hazing_guidelines.html

Thank you.
