As founder and web
designer of BluffParkAL.org I've watched our community with great
amazement. It's my belief that we have the best people in Hoover,
the best voter turnout, the best community cohesiveness, and by far a
terrific place to live.
BluffParkAL.org, from its
inception in August 2006 through the present has always taken a
non-adversarial position with city leaders in presenting our position.
We believe that, when we present something to the city, we have thought
it out, we believe that it's necessary, but understand when it cannot
happen...right away.
From our very first
venture, the Hoover Police Sub-Station, which was the first time we
heard "No" at first from city hall (grand opening of the sub-station was
December 2006) to Shade's Crest Baptist Church's High Mountain 5K
(another "No" at first - the city wanted all races moved to either the
Hoover Met or to Veteran's Park. The High Mountain 5K is here to
stay as long as Shades Crest Baptist Church chooses to have it, thanks
to the work of the city council and BluffParkAL.org), we will work with
the city.
We have refrained from
being political. It serves no purpose other than to be divisive,
when much can be accomplished by simply engaging in dialog.
Every once in a while,
though, some thoughts have to be put down...call them observations.
This section will serve as our observations of Bluff Park, and how they
relate to our role with the city of Hoover.
