Bluff Park’s Studio 1 Dance is located in the Shades Mountain Plaza. Three sisters, Kristi Weaver, Alicia Wilbanks and Karen Romero, decided to open their studio in Bluff Park because of the planned revitalization of the area. All three grew up in Bluff Park and are former Berry/Hoover High School students. 
Kristi serves as the Dance Director, Alicia as the Conditioning Director and Karen as the Cheer Director. All three sisters bring very impressive resumes with them, with almost 30 years of combined dance and cheer instruction. Their goal is to educate the students from early childhood through adult in anatomically correct dance technique, dance history, choreography, and dance terminology in the areas of ballet, tap and jazz, as well as hip hop.
In addition, Studio 1 Dance offers progressive cheernastics instruction as well as dance team and cheerleading intensive courses designed to aid those wishing to try out for local teams or squads.
Studio 1 Dance offers students a place to study different styles of dance and to express their creativity through movement. They offer dance conditioning designed to further develop the dancer’s body or sculpt the non-dancer.
The classes offered by Studio 1 Dance include: Preschool Introduction to Ballet, Tap & Tumbling; Preparatory Ballet, Tap & Jazz (A, B, C); Level I-IV Ballet, Tap & Jazz; Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced Hip Hop; Level I-III Cheernastics; Cheerleading Intensive; NYC Ballet Conditioning; Sculpt; Choreographed Step; Pilates; Adult Ballet, Tap and Hip Hop.
The “studio” of Studio 1 Dance features over 1200 square feet of space. It has a safe, professional timestep dance floor – designed for multiple dance forms. It features professional, wall-mounted, solid wood ballet barres, full-length mirrors, a spacious waiting area, large windows for viewing dancers on “Watch Me” days, a growing reference library. Of course, since it is in the Shades Mountain Plaza, it has a spacious parking lot and is convenient to all areas of Bluff Park.
