I know we have discussed increasing our sense of community on this board several times and that is much of the reason for our "All For One" event. In that same line, what about a
Bluff Park Christmas Parade?
I know it is a little early to be talking Christmas!! But it will be here soon. Years ago Hoover had a Christmas Parade down 31, and Vestavia still has one. When I was in high school we always participated in the Vestavia parade since Hoover no longer held theirs and I thought it was such a shame!
Think of all the community organizations that could be involved, church youth groups, scout troops, school clubs plus local businesses. If the High School groups (band, etc) can participate in the Vestavia parade surely they could participate in a Bluff Park one too, right? Santa could ride on the Fire Engine!! They could go right down Park Avenue with spectators lined up on the sidewalks cheering!
I get excited just thinking about it!! Thoughts? How can we make this happen? Does Hoover have some ordinance banning parades?
