Eye Doctor

OK- Not only am I long overdue for teeth cleaning, but an eye exam as well. I was going to a place that is out of the way from here. They never mentioned how with astigmatism I would be better to use gas permeable hard lenses than the soft ones. I really want contacts. I have heard so many complaints about Schaeffer, I hesistate to go there. I need an eye place that seems to be knowledgeable and up to date on all the latest options for eyes. I am tired of glasses! I don't see bad enough to get the laser (nor can I afford it anyway). Thanks for any suggestions. Roll Eyes

I started going to Schaeffer last year and really like them.  They definitely know their stuff and have all the latest and greatest equipment.

I went to Scaeffer (sp?) one time and it was ok, but their glasses and everything are so expensive.  Alabama Family Eye Care on 150 is good.  My husband has gone there the past 2 years.  733-0507.  Also, Pelham Eye Care off 31 in Pelham, almost across from the Elementary school is great.  I know its a big further, but its worth it.  664-1575.  Also, you don't have to do hard contacts for Astigmatism.  I have it, and have been in some B&Laum toric lenses for 5 years and they are wonderful and if you get them from Costco and not the eye doctor, less than $40/box!
