Shades Cliff Community Pool has been a refreshing outlet to residents for many years.
The pool offers one large swimming pool with diving boards and a small round baby pool.
Membership at the pool works a little different than other community pools.
The pool is privately owned; it is not a city pool. Buying a membership at the pool means becoming a bondholder, meaning you own part of the pool. Members of the Pool Board are made up of parent volunteers. For membership information people will need to speak with Pool Board member Lisa Reynolds who is in charge of the membership list. Residents will need to go by and visit the front desk at that pool and fill out a “Waiting List Request” Card. People can leave it with the desk or mail it to the address that is on the card. A second card Residents will get is the “Shades Cliff Pool Membership Information” card. This card breaks down fees for Membership and Annual Dues. Lifeguards at the desk will get them to the manager and to Lisa. The Pool is open 10-8 most days 1-9 Sundays.
There is a long waiting list for Shades Cliff right now, but once you are on the list you are on it and they will let you know when your number comes up. For an alternative another local Hoover pool closest to Bluff Park would be Birch Tree.
Thanks to Bluff Park Forum member Suzie “The Cat” for information on this subject and Shades Cliff Pool
