Heads up on an attempted break-in yesterday morning at 7:30 am at a home on Park Avenue. Apparently rush hour traffic didn't dissuade the thief from trying to break down a door visible from the street with a crowbar, but either the homeowner's yells or the barking dogs made him give up before successfully forcing entry into the home.  
 
According to the police, this same early morning time frame has been used to recently burglarize a couple of homes on South Shades Crest as well. Takeaway: pay attention to any unusual activity going on at the houses you pass on your way into work, and take note of any unfamiliar people or parked cars who observe you pulling out of your driveway.
