HOOVER, Alabama -- The Hoover City Council tonight is scheduled to vote on a proposal to add 99 acres of city-owned property to the 250-acre Moss Rock Preserve nature park.
The council is slated to dedicate 79 acres of property on Chapel Road next to Simmons Middle School and 20 acres off Shadeswood Drive for perpetual use as a public park for the city of Hoover.
The city bought the 79-acre property for $4.4 million in 2007. It purchased the 20 acres off Shadeswood Drive for $950,000 in 2008.
