October is National Crime Prevention Month. The American Crime Prevention Institute states that there are generally three components to a successful crime: the DESIRE the criminal has to commit the crime, the ABILITY the criminal has to commit the crime, and the OPPORTUNITY the criminal has to commit the crime. As individuals one of the best things we can do to prevent crimes against us is to reduce the opportunities we unintentionally provide criminals. Whether it is personal or property crimes, criminals often rely on good people letting their guard down or being uninformed about effective crime prevention habits. We would like to challenge you to increase your crime prevention knowledge in at least one area this month. The web sites listed below have well over one hundred topics that relate to children, adults, and seniors. Thank you.
