Bumpus Middle School was placed in lockdown around lunchtime today.  During the course of a locker search, school administrators and police resource officers discovered an unloaded revolver.  The student’s locker and personal possessions were thoroughly searched but no ammunition was found.  The student assigned to the locker, a male in the eighth grade, was taken into custody.  The school was placed into lockdown as a precautionary measure and was lifted a short time later.
